At Celebrate the Savior: Jesus Gives Us Joy! VBS, of all the blessings God gives us, His son, Jesus, is the biggest reason to celebrate! Starting with Jesus' birth and concluding with His Resurrection, children will learn about Jesus' unending love and forgiveness.
With the Bible accounts of:
- Jesus Heals Man Lowered through Roof (Mark 2:1-12)
- Jesus Heals Me!
- Jesus Feeds Five Thousand (Mt 14:13-21)
- Jesus Cares for Me!
- Jesus Dies and Rises Again (Lk 23:32-49; Mt 28:1-10)
- Jesus Saves Me!
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Ps 95:1
Children (Age 4yrs who have completed a year of preschool - 6th grade completed), plus Youth Volunteers (7th grade - 12th grade completed) and Adult Volunteers, work and play together during these amazing days of Bible stories, crafts, games, music, and snack.
2024 VBS Dates:
Due to the July 4th holiday falling in the middle of our traditional VBS week after ICSD school year ends, we are having a modified VBS for the 3 days before the holiday:
Monday, Jul 1, 2024 - Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 9am-Noon
In addition, VBS families are welcome to join Trinity's regular Sunday worship on the morning of Sunday Jun 30th, to be followed by a Trinity church picnic celebrating the VBS kick-off. More details will follow.
Is VBS Free?
Yes! Over the week, we do collect a free will offering for a mission project. Our mission project this year is the Feed My Starving Children Mobile FoodPack in Ithaca this coming fall of 2024.
When Does Registration End?
At this time, we aren't putting any limitations on the numbers of registered children. Please help us in the planning of crafts, schedules and volunteers by registering as early as possible (with a deadline of June 15th).
Can Youth attend as Volunteers?
YES! Those graduating from 7th grade (&up) are welcome to join us as Youth Helpers. Please register any Youth Helpers under the age of 18 on the "Child Registration" link (we need the proper permissions on record). A mandatory orientation/training session for Youth Helpers and adult volunteers will be held on Saturday, June 8th from 9:30-11:30am.
Do You Need Adult Volunteers? How Can I Help?
Yes! And Thank you! Your help is a wonderful gift to all the children & adults who attend. We couldn't do it without all the generous donations of time. Adults are also asked to attend the orientation/training session on Saturday, June 8th from 9:30-11:30am.
How do I Register to be an Adult Volunteer?
You may register by clicking on the "Become a Volunteer" link. Or if you prefer you may still send an email to Lisa Thompson (VBS@trinityithaca.org) with the days you are available and the place where you would enjoy helping out. I should have your contact information if you registered a student. Otherwise include the best way to contact you. I try to put volunteers in the area they most prefer but this is not always possible as some locations have limits.
An application must be completed for anyone aged 18 and older who will be on the premises volunteering with the children. The VBS director will have one for you shortly after you register or contact her about your willingness to serve.
Photo Permission Information
Pleas note: Agreeing to the photo release on the registration form is for the group picture taken each year and sent home with the children and for use of the VBS photos without names.
If you have any questions, please contact Trinity Lutheran VBS Co-Director, Lisa Thompson by email: VBS@trinityithaca.org
