Be the Reflector: Kids mirror your energy. If you are excited, focused, and full of joy, they will be too.
The "Glow" Count: Always count your crew before moving between stations, especially in dimmed or blacklit rooms.
Manage the Shine: If glow gear or flashlights become a distraction, politely place them in a designated basket (the "Charging Station") until the end of the day.
Keep It Safe: No running in low-light areas, and never shine lights directly into anyone's eyes. Always use the buddy system for bathroom breaks.
We don't just want you to help—we need you! You are the secret weapon of Illumination Station because the younger kids look up to you more than anyone else.
Be the Hype Crew: You get to lead the neon dance parties, run the high-energy activities, and help the kids build epic crafts.
Earn Service Hours: Rocking your VBS leadership looks great on school folders, honor society applications, and resumes.
Make a Real Difference: You have the unique power to make a lonely kid welcomed and included.
Model the Energy: If you’re standing on the sidelines checking your phone, the kids will lose interest. If you’re singing and doing the motions, they’ll jump right in.
Phones in the Pocket: Keep personal screens put away during VBS hours. Be fully present in the "glow"!
Be a Safe Space: Use encouraging words, help the station leaders keep order, and show the kids what God's love looks like in action.
