Become a Volunteer

Parents, please read the following information:

(New!) Scheduled Help: FOJ functions best when facilitaed by at least 3 adults! Parents who have volunteered to help in the past are now randomly "scheduled" to be that 3rd person. If you are scheduled to assist a certain FOJ and you know you cannot make it, please find someone to take your place. Helpers are not asked to teach, but act as an aide. Schedule will be shared in GroupMe soon.

Pick up: Children attending FOJ are not allowed to walk off the church premises or leave early without getting acknowledgment from Ishshah, or other assisting adults. It is preferable that parents/family pick up their children from FOJ in-person, but if you want to text your child that you've arrived, make sure the child tells Ishshah, or another assiting adult first. If your child is getting picked up by someone else, please tell Ishshah beforehand. (All this is to ensure that every child safe and where they should be!)

Nursing Home: Once a month, we will visit the Live Oak Nursing Home during FOJ (4:30 - 4:55) to sing and greet the folks there. Parents are encoraged to help transport our kids across the street to the home and come inside with us! Parents are allowed to pick their kids up from there--just give Ishshah a heads up. Nursing home days will be provided in GroupMe soon.

Medical Release: I give my permission for the VBS staff to administer basic first aid to me in the event of an injury. I understand that the VBS staff will contact emergency services in the event of a significant injury and all expenses for such emergency services will be paid by me.
