Wake Awake: Watching for Jesus Hymn VBS 2026

Discover a new kind of VBS experience! Each day at Wake, Awake...

• Everyone starts with Opening Worship, where children, leaders, and helpers sing, hear God’s Word, and pray together.
• Then, children head off to a Bible Lesson, where they learn a Bible narrative that relates to themes of the hymn, "Wake, Awake, for Night Is Flying."
• Next, children attend a Catechism Lesson that shares a teaching from Luther’s Small Catechism.
• Finally, they go to a Hymn Lesson, where they explore the biblical themes of the hymn text and sing together. 
• Children also enjoy Snacks, Games, and a Craft before coming together again for Closing Worship.

Each of the five days of Wake, Awake focuses on a line from the hymn paired with a Bible narrative, Central Truth, Bible Verse, Catechism Connection, Law and Gospel, Craft, Games, and Snacks. 

This VBS is open to all children age 3 (potty trained) to fifth grade and will take place from 9am-12pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marion, IL. We look forward to seeing you there!
